Winter Term 2025 News and Events
GHJ International hosted a job seminar for the winter term 2025 interns on February 23rd at the GHJ Clubhouse in Nagasaki City. Guy Healy, the CEO of GHJ International, coached the interns on how to effectively apply for teaching jobs in Japan, covering topics such as tailoring resumes to Japanese employers, maintaining a professional email address, and navigating the unique aspects of the Japanese job market.
Guest teacher speakers, former interns who have successfully acquired teaching positions in Japan, including those in the highly acclaimed JET Program, shared their experiences. Paige Turner, Bethany Harris, and Vincent Delelio, are just a few who have secured positions in the JET Program. Others who were able to secure other teaching jobs in Japan are Cris Soares from Brazil, Nermen Maghoub from Egypt, and Geofrey Tolentino from the Philippines. Husra Tekin, who joined the TEFL Practicum in Nagasaki, is now successfully teaching in Thailand.
A recurring theme amongst the guest speakers was the TEFL practicum's instrumental role in securing their teaching positions, both within Japan and internationally.
The seminar was a great success, and GHJ International not only wishes the winter 2025 interns the best in their job search, but also, they will be working on a new system to facilitate connections between TEFL interns and Japanese educational institutions in the near future.
